Thank You, it is Time to Focus on Victory!

28 June 2010

Thank you to all who voted for me. And to those who didn't, I appreciate the spirited support you gave my opponents and I am looking forward to working with you as we strive toward the common goal of electing Diane Denish governor of New Mexico in 2010.

I am honored and thrilled to be on the ticket with Diane.

These are difficult times and difficult times call for the strongest leaders to stand up and take charge.

Diane Denish is the right person at the right time to help New Mexico get back on its feet. How do I know this? Because I have seen her work.

As a small business owner, as a tireless advocate for New Mexico's working families - Diane has always put doing what's right above what's popular.

Diane Denish fought to expand access to early childhood education. She fought to crack down on payday lenders. She took on corruption at the Regional Housing Authorities. She crafted an innovative micro loan program to get capital into the hands of 1,800 New Mexico small business owners.

I could go on and on. But Diane is not about the past. Diane is about New Mexico's future.

She's about results for New Mexico's working families; A real plan to help jump start our economy and create jobs; a commitment to transforming workforce education so that our young people have the skills they need to compete for jobs of the future; investment in green jobs and using technology to better connect our rural communities.

In this election New Mexico voters will have a clear choice.

Susana Martinez talks a big game, Diane has delivered results for New Mexico families.

Susana Martinez is - as Diane has put it - all sizzle, no steak. She has been an ineffective District Attorney who does not deserve a promotion to the state's top job.

Martinez has let 40% of felony murder defendants back on our streets and after promising not to cut plea bargain deals with felony DWI offenders, she did - more than 800 times since making the pledge.

Martinez won the Republican primary by mischaracterizing her record as DA, courting Tea Party activists and getting a timely endorsement from Sarah Palin.

There's another candidate - Diane - who won't make empty promises, but who will work like heck every day to build a better future for New Mexicans.

Brian Colón
